The science fiction writer A.R. Belyayev died from starvation in occupied Pushkin Town, he was burried in a common grave in the Kazanskoye Semetery. On 1 November 1968 the monument to the writer was opened in the cemetery, in 1982 his wife Margarita Konstantinovna Belyayeva (Mangushevskaya) was burried there. 28-29 January. Teachers and students of the Pushkin Agricultural Institute, stayed in blockade Leningrad, were sent on "The Road of Life" to Vologda City and then to the Altay Kray where they continued studies. August - September. The 250th Spanish "Blue Division" (it was named according to the colour of uniform) arrived to Pushkin Town for the realization of the occupation regime.
