June. Georgy Yevgenyevich Belyayev, who worked actively on the restoration of the after-war town, the director of the State Museum-Reserve from 1965 untill 1986, awarded the Order of the October Revolution for his work in the museum, the chairman of the local government of the catchment area No.6, was conferred the title "Honorary Citizen of Pushkin Town".
Tatyana Aleksandrovna Sveshnikova, who worked in the town as a doctor at first, then as the head physician of the children's hospital and the head physician of children's clinic since 1947 untilln 1972, was conferred the title "Honorary Citizen of Pushkin Town". From 1961 Sveshnikova was elected a deputy of the District Soviet of four convocations. In 1966 Sveshnikova was awarded the Order "The Sign of the Honour".
July. The first stage of the restoration of the Chinese Village (16 objects) was completed on the money of the Danish investor taking into consideration the lease for 49 years.
August. The exposition "The Memoirs in the Alexander Palace" was opened in the left restored semicircle of the Alexander Palace.
Pushkin was conferred the title "The most developed town in Russia" as the result of the All-Russian competition.
