The countermeasures for fire suppression, employed timely, prevented enourmous material losses. 19 February. The Organ Hall was opened after the restoration of the 19th century organ, made by musical school teachers O.I. Bezgubov and Yu.N. Semyonov, in the Musical School in Leontyevskaya Street. A co-operative producing sawn timber and joinery articles was organized, short time later it was reorganized into the joint-stock company "Prestizh" according to the initiative of its chairman B.L. Blotner.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded in Pushkin Town. The businessman B.L. Blotner was the first president of the Chamber. V.I. Afanasenko was the director of the chamber. The Fiodorovsky Cathedral was given to the Russian Orthodox church in the ruined condition. Since 1995 the Father-Superior Markell (Vetrov) was appointed the senior priest of the Cathedral, since 2006 he became the bishop of Peterhof, a vicar of the Saint Petersburg eparchy. The public organization "The Committee of Twin Cities Relations of Pushkin Town" was established. By 2001 the contacts with eighteen twin cities was established. The most effective humanitarian welfare was provided by the citizens of Noikeln (a district of Berlin) in difficult times.

Founders of the Prize were the All_Russian Museum of A.S. Pushkin, the patron of arts Boris Blotner, the writer Viktor Krivulin, the musician Sergey Kuryekhin, the film director Aleksandr Sokurov, the writer Nikolay Yakimchuk. Among prize-winners: the academician Dmitriy Likhachev, the conductor Mstislav Rastropovich, the singer Galina Vishnevskaya, the actress Alisa Freindlikh, poets yevgeny Yevtushenko and Bella Akhmadulina, the museum workers Marina Petay and Sergey Nekrasov and many others. 4 July. The monument to Emperor Nicholas II (to the design by the sculptor V.V. Zaiko) was erected on the territory of the Fiodorovsky Emperor Cathedral using the money of S.Rogov, the patron of arts. July. The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II visited Pushkin Town. December. B.N. Lebedev, V.G. Zhuraclev, Yu.F. Shitov, I.A. Alekseyev, artists - restorers of the Catherine Palace, were awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation for re-creating décor painting of the palace and pavilions. Polish restorers of the company PKZ finished to restore the Great and Small Caprice, Cross Bridge and facades of the Agate Rooms.
