Rastrelli and sculptors D.-B. Djani and G.-F. Partir worked here. Then G. Quarenghi introduced elemets of the Classical style into the pavilion architecture. He worked jointly with painters- decorators F. Danilov and A. della Jakoma. The Hall on the Island was intended for holding concerts and receptions. People were delivered to the island by a ferry, there were two ferry piers, or by boats. On present days in summer concerts are held in the pavilion where public is delivered by the ferry.
