M.I. Ivanov, who overcome the distance of seventy versts for 2 hours 13 minutes 19.8 seconds, became a winner of the race. The first town library was opened on the third storey of the Lyceum building. The library was founded on the base of books taken from nationalized mansions of Tsarskoye Selo. Maria Petrovna Dmitriyeva became the first manager of the library. The first pioneer organisation was established in Detskoye Selo. The leader of the organisation became the Communist Party member M.G. Churkina.
